I'm excited to introduce you to Jenn Windrow. She's a mega-talented writer and blogging sister of mine at READerlicious.com. She has a new release called Struck by Eros. I asked her to talk about how music influences her writing. First, I'll share her release info...
One jaded woman. Two hot men. A challenge to prove Cupid doesn't always know best.
After a lifetime of dating losers, Noel Chase thinks she’s found love with college professor Len Holder. But Cupid's aim sucks worse than his crap-tacular curse, sticking her with supposed soul mate, Grayson Adler. Grayson is gorgeous, Greek, and an exact replica of the man-whores of her past. No matter what the chubby cherub thinks, Noel is sure Grayson is Mr. Wrong with a capital “W.”
Forced to do Cupid’s bidding, Noel must spend her days with Grayson matchmaking the unlucky-in-loves, and trying to resist Grayson’s charm and do-me-now sex appeal. But when Cupid tries to match her fiancé, Len, with another woman, Noel must make an excruciating decision. Defy Cupid and hang on to Len? Or succumb to her fate and trust Grayson with her heart?

Jenn's Playlist for Struck By Eros
While I wrote Struck By Eros, all my chapter sub-headings were originally song titles, songs that I listened to while I wrote, songs that seemed to match the mood and feel of the chapter I was working on. Then....my editor came through and decided that the chapter sub-headings needed to match my writing, i.e.. Snarky and sexy, so we changed them all, which I am happy about, but I still miss my songs.
I thought it would be fun to list some of the song titles that stuck, might even give you a good idea of what kind of chapter I included it in or the mood Noel was in during that chapter.
Love the One You're With - Crosby, Still, and Nash
Don't Talk to Strangers - Rick Springfield
Hit Me With Your Best Shot - Pat Benatar
Dirty Little Secret - All American Rejects
Everything About You - Ugly Kid Joe
Fuck It I Don't Want You Back - Eamon
Who's Making Love - Johnnie Taylor
Go All the Way - Raspberries
Poor Fool - Tina Turner
I want To Be Sedated - Ramones
And now after looking at that selection of songs I realize that I have some really messed up eclectic music taste.
But there was one song that was my favorite out of the whole book. One song that just seemed to be perfect for Noel and her messed up situation. Her ring tone for Cupid...wait for it.
Stupid Cupid by Connie Francis
Jenn Windrow loves characters that have a pinch of spunk, a dash of attitude, and a large dollop of sex appeal. Top it all off with a huge heaping helping of snark, and you've got the ingredients for the kind of fast paced stories she loves to read and write. Home is a suburb of it's-so-hot-my-shoes-have-melted-to-the-pavement Phoenix. Where she lives with her husband, two daughters, and a slew of animals that seem to keep following her home, at least that's what she claims.
Jenn's Urban Fantasy, EVIL’S UNLIKELY ASSASSIN won the RWA Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal (FF&P), “On The Far Side” writing contest in July 2014, top 5 in the RWA Desert Rose, “Realizing the Dream” writing contest, and finaled in the Houston Writers Guild annual writing contest in April 2014. It was also selected as first runner up in Writers Type’s First Chapter Contest in April 2013.
Her Paranormal Romance, STRUCK BY EROS placed first in the RWA’s Golden Pen Contest, third in the Ruby Slippered Sisterhoods Make it Golden contest, and fourth in the West Coast Romance Writers Beacon contest.
Her first full length novel, Struck By Eros will be released in the Summer of 2016 from Muse It Up Publishing. Her short story, Swallowed By Darkness is available at Amazon.
