Last summer, I had a virtual book tour for The Waiting Booth. That's where I met Daniela. She followed my blog posts and entered contests. After winning a copy of The Waiting Booth, she read it and rated it a "5" on Goodreads. I was elated. Daniela even followed up with questions about the arrival of Book 2. It's what every author hopes for.
Daniela's an avid reader, and I'm thrilled to know her. I see her selections on Goodreads, but I wanted to know more. What else does she read? I'd love for you to know her as well. I asked if we could post an interview and she obliged. Thanks, Daniela!
I’m Daniela, and I live in Puebla, Mexico. I was born in Argentina but moved to Mexico when I was 13. I love this country, it’s so beautiful and there are so many places to go… if you ever have the time I’d encourage you to come here.
Anyway, let’s get to the questions (hope you don’t get too bored by my answers).
1. What is one book everyone should read?
Well, my favorite book from all times is “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen, so I think that’s a book everyone should read.
2. If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world... which would it be?
I guess that I’d like to live in Lynsay Sands Argenau Vampires series (I’m a fan of “good” loving vamps). It’s pretty much our world but if I were a vampire I could be immortal and be able to eat what I wanted and not gain a single pound.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’d love to live by the ocean, it doesn’t matter the country. Just being able to look at it every day would be amazing.
4. What is your favorite quote?
I don’t have a favorite quote per se, but I’d like to share these two with you:
“There is nothing I would not do for those who are really my friends. I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature.” Jane Austen in Northanger Abbey
“You can't force love, I realized. It's there or it isn't. If it's not there, you've got to be able to admit it. If it is there, you've got to do whatever it takes to protect the ones you love.” Richelle Mead, Frostbite
5. Who are your favorite authors of all time?
Well I like mostly paranormal romance books, so there are a lot of authors I like. JR Ward, Lara Adrian, Lynsay Sands, Richelle Mead, Leanore Elliott, Kerrrelyn Sparks, Jeaniene Frost, Alexandra Ivy, Cynthia Eden, Charlaine Harris, Melanie Nowak, DB Reynolds, Rosalie Lario, and many more.
There is of course Jane Austen, not paranormal and not contemporary, but I really enjoyed her books. I could also mention Dan Brown.
And this author I know, Brinda Berry, who only has one book, but I’ve come to like both as an author and a friend.
I don’t think I can choose, they’re all my favorite and I’m sure I’m forgetting some.
6. What movie and/or book are you looking forward to this year?
I’d say the next book from The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lover Reborn, by JR Ward.
7. What was your favorite children's book?
I remember I had three really big books with pictures in and tales like “Puss in Boots”, “The Ugly Duckling”, “The Princess and the Pea”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “The Three Little Pigs” and a few more whose names I can’t remember. I loved the stories as much as the pictures.
8. If you could have a signed copy of any novel what would it be and why?
I’d rather meet the author and have a picture taken with her/him than have a book be signed by them. I’m not a fan of print versions of books, I prefer EBooks.
9. What TV show/movie/book do you watch/read that you'd be embarrassed to admit?
I guess it could be Beverly Hills 90210 (the original TV series from the 90s). I don’t know how I could watch it.
10. What is your favorite way to spend a rainy day?
It could be reading or watching a movie… but I must say that I don’t really like rainy days.
11. Where do you read and how many hours a week?
I usually read in my bed and as for how many hours, not as many as I’d like to.
12. Your favorite place for social media on the internet: blogs, websites, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, or other?
I’d have to say blogs (from authors or readers) because they give me the opportunity to get to know new books and authors and even to get in touch with them and ask questions and befriend them (even if it is only a virtual friendship), like it happened with you Brinda and some other awesome indie authors I “know”.
