While on vacation last week, I read several books. Blood Fugue is from the New Adult genre and is a novella from the Moonsongs series. I reviewed it HERE.
I've been reading lots of contemporary New Adult books. Almost all have focused on the romantic relationship and a traumatic experience from the main character's past. Blood Fugue was a different read for me. This first book in a series is from the speculative paranormal action category.
I like the main character, Jenny. She is tough and crass. Her friend Marshall is also one that I found very entertaining. I enjoyed the dialogue between the two. I liked Marshall so much that I'll be mad if he gets killed in a later story. So, Mr. Wesley, forget about this "you must kill your darlings stuff." I guess I'll have to read the next two books to make sure that Wesley keeps Marshall around.
