A Week of Romance & #Giveaway Part II

2/13/2013

Comments

I'm so glad you've stopped by to visit. I'm a guest on two blogs today: the DSRA blog talking about A Book Ad That Scores and at Nutschell Windsor's Blog, The Writing Nut. Don't forget about the February Giveaway at the bottom of the post. You must enter through the Rafflecopter. I change options throughout the month, so there are always new ways to enter. That means the options in the Rafflecopter have changed since Monday, and there are more ways to win.

Today we have three wonderful romance authors that I'd like to introduce. Check out their answers to my questions about romance.

Three Beautiful Romance Authors:

Most romantic pick-up line you've ever heard

Kinley: All my favorite pick-up lines are so inappropriate… Lol. I’ve always liked: “Baby, did it hurt?”… “When you fell from Heaven.” That’s probably not romantic to most people, but I’m strange.

Patty: Legendary Broadway actress, Helen Hayes, was invited by an actor friend to a high-society gathering where her demure disposition didn’t fit in well with the boisterous crowd. While she sat in the corner thinking of a good excuse for leaving, a handsome, green-eyed gentleman came over and offered her some peanuts. As he put them in her hand he said, “I wish they were emeralds.” He was her future husband, Chicago journalist and playwright, Charles MacArthur.

Sharon: Oh man, I need to get out more. One time, stopped at a red light, feeling lousy, a guy in the car next to me called over. I didn’t want to look. Finally did. He said, “you look beautiful.” Simple, yet lifted my dark cloud.

Best Place for a First Date

Kinley: It’s been so long since I’ve been on a first date. A bookstore? Oh gosh, I hope I don’t have to date again soon.

Patty: A picnic basket and a concert under the stars at the Hollywood Bowl.
Sharon: A hike along the Niagara Escarpment.

Food That Represents Love to You

Kinley: Anything home cooked. There’s a lot of love that goes into a homemade dish.

Patty:A bottle of Nouveau Beaujolais wine, a warm baguette, and a wheel of camembert cheese.

Sharon: Chocolate.

Most Romantic Book You've Ever Read

Kinley: There are so many! Any romance ever… Seriously. I heart the genre so much. There are so many different ways to be romantic.
Patty:Outlander by Diana Gabaldon.  Because I fell into everlasting love with her hero, Jamie Fraser.

Sharon:  Dragonfly in Amber by Diana Gabladon.

Most Romantic Song in History

Kinley: Photography by The Starting Line. My wedding song.

Patty:Wow – in history? I can only answer the question this way: What’s the most romantic song in my history. It would have to be True Love. It’s an old Cole Porter song from a 1950’s movie.  My late husband and I loved to sing it together.

Sharon:  Joe Cocker’s You Are So Beautiful

If you had to choose between a wonderful romantic relationship that would end after only a year, or a so-so relationship that would last your entire life, which one would you choose and why?

Kinley: I think so-so can be pretty special over a lifetime. It might not be romantic in dreamy terms, but there’s a lot to be said for choosing to spend your time with someone forever.

Patty: I would choose to work on that so-so relationship to create the wonderful romantic one that would last an entire lifetime.

Sharon: The wonderful year-long relationship because the memories would last a life-time.

Kinley Baker

Kinley Baker has a terminally tender heart and an inconvenient sense of humor. She loves puppies and cries at celebrity weddings. Kinley believes that romance novels are the keys to world peace, because if you're holding a book, you can't be holding a gun. Kinley supports all supernatural lifestyles and believes "happy ever after" isn't only for the normal. Her books Ruined, Denied and Freed are available now from Crescent Moon Press. Excuse My Fairy is available now from Etopia Press. Look for more in the Misbehaving Magics series and the final book in the Shadowed Love trilogy in 2013.

Excuse My Fairy

Her magic breaks all the rules. He breaks all of hers.

Draybeth is broken. Her fairy powers don’t work, her magic is completely dysfunctional, and not even her bad attitude and soft heart can win her back into Fairy favor. Exiled from their land, she struggles to make a life for herself in the human world. But when her bar burns to the ground and she meets one of the Impassables--the devastating Lawman Barrett--things become even more of a struggle. An arrest, murder, and abduction challenge everything she’s worked for, and worse, the Impassable Lawman appears to be her destined mate. But darkness stirs deep within Dray’s heart, and she’s not about to drag the gorgeous lawman down with her.

Barrett never expected to find himself mated to a fairy, let alone one with such a wicked temper and a short fuse. Being an Impassable, he should be immune to fairy magic, but Dray’s magic burns through him like lightning, just as everything else about her ignites him, body and soul. The fairy’s power over Impassables threatens everything this new realm was built upon, and as a Lawman, Barrett’s job is to make sure those threats are eliminated. But his feelings for Dray make him question just where his duty lies.

Passion, fashion, and secrets...

After life took a tragic turn, Jelly Swanson had no time for men. Providing a safe, nurturing home for her little sister and running a successful boutique left her too busy for much else, and forced the idea of a love life to the back burner. But when she goes to school for a teacher's conference, her sister Emi's science teacher takes Jelly completely by surprise. And getting pregnant with his baby? That's not at all part of the plan.

The last thing Henry Palasczewski is looking for is romance. With a broken engagement behind him, he's interested only in the job he loves and the students who adore him. Then Jelly walks into his classroom, and he's dazzled by her sexy, flamboyant manner. She's way out of his league—he's a science nerd, not a movie star—but the chemistry between them is undeniable.

But when Emi goes missing, a tangle of secrets and past loves may destroy any chance they have at happiness...

Rhapsody

Isabelle plans to escape the real world when she takes a tropical vacation to work on her relationship recovery program. But escape becomes too real when she realizes Paradise Resort has disappeared. She is trapped in an immortal world where she must win her freedom by seducing her opponent, a man she labeled off limits, in a board game of seduction. Her resistance is solid, safe, and steadfast until her traitorous body decides this is a game she wants to play.

Jonathan has made seducing women an art form. His needs are simple: break down Isabelle’s resistance, seduce the panties off her, and get back to the real world fast where an emergency needs his attention. He plays to win, but when Isabelle takes a penalty and they must play out her secret fantasy, Jonathan struggles to follow the objective and keep his own arousal under control. Desire grows between them as each roll of the die reveals secrets, truths, and a greater expanse of skin, until the mastermind behind the game forces Jonathan to confront his worse fear or lose Isabelle forever.
