I love movies. When Alex Cavanaugh posted an invitation to blog about favorite movies, I signed up immediately!

My problem is that I have too many favorites. So, I'm going to narrow this baby down to my all time favorite ROMANCE movies. I don't think I picked out the traditional ones. I like my romance movies sad, funny, nostalgic, and quirky.

Have you seen any of these romance movies? Silver Linings Playbook is my pick for this year. I've seen all the others several times. Meet Joe Black may be the oddest one on my list.

Oh you have some awesome choices, I was watching as good as it gets for the very first time just a couple of days ago :)

03/18/2013 6:18am

The Princess Bride just missed being on my top list. And When Harry Met Sally is a classic.
Thanks for participating in my blgofest!

I love Meet Joe Black; it is such a great movie and so many people I know have never heard of it. The Princess Bride is also totally awesome :).

03/18/2013 6:39am

Nice to see Pretty Woman on a list. Such a fun movie.

03/18/2013 6:44am

Great idea to pick a genre. I too was glad to see 'Meet Joe Black'. That was a great film - 'death and taxes' ha!

03/18/2013 7:30am

The Princess Bride, an absolute classic!

03/18/2013 7:44am

I REALLY need to see Silver Linings Playbook. And I'm a huge fan of Dirty Dancing.

03/18/2013 7:51am

Princess Bride rocks! Romeo and Juliet was so well done, too. So many great choices. I like how you went all romance. I mixed mine up a bit. I really need to see Silver Linings!

03/18/2013 8:18am

Princess Bride remains my favourite. I was a fan when the movie was in the theatre, long before it became a classic.

03/18/2013 8:24am

Oh how I love your list. Some of my favorites are here as well, only I forgot about them.

Great list! I love it! Too bad I have to work tonight........this weather would make for a nice movie day! :)

03/18/2013 8:52am

I adore Baz Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet. I don't even much like the play, but that version is just rich with visuals and excellent acting. Didn't hurt that I was 16 when it came out and Leonardo DiCaprio was oh so dreamy. lol. Great list.

03/18/2013 9:24am

I'm making a list of all the movies I need to see! Love this idea.

03/18/2013 9:36am

03/18/2013 10:35am

You've got three of my wife's favorites on the list, Brinda: Princess Bride, Geisha, and Silver Linings. I actually love all three of those movies as well. (Convenient! :)

One of my favorite romantic comedies from last year was Safety Not Guaranteed. Very funny and cute.

03/18/2013 11:01am

So many great ones! It was super hard coming up with a list.

03/18/2013 11:12am

Memoirs of A Geisha was a beautiful adaptation. The cinematography in that movie was stunning. Great choice!

03/18/2013 11:32am

03/18/2013 12:34pm

I've seen most of them, Brinda, and will say my favourite would have to be The Princess Bride, even though I like Meet Joe Black too because it was different and I love Anthony Hopkins and well, Brad Pitt, what's not to like.

03/18/2013 2:07pm

I've always had a soft spot for Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing (nobody puts Baby in a corner!), and I adore The Princess Bride.

03/18/2013 2:31pm

I love that version of Romeo and Juliet. Clair Danes and Leo were so beautiful together. Great list.

03/18/2013 3:01pm

You've Got Mail is just the sweetest movie, isn't it?

OMG Mee Joe Black! LOVE that one..it slipped my mind during this list. Brad Pitt as death..great movie.

03/19/2013 12:56am

Good choices. I loved 17 again, even though I didn't think I would. Thought it would be too cheesy. Zac surprised me by being good in it. And Memoirs of a Geisha made me cry and cry.

When Harry Met Sally and Chocolat are two at the top of my list. I loved Silver Linings Playbook, too. Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence were stellar in it.

03/19/2013 2:30am

Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing would make my list. I never really liked You've Got Mail. What about Sleepless in Seattle?

03/19/2013 9:53am

hehehe I love quoting lines from "As Good As It Gets"

03/19/2013 4:41pm
