Three Beautiful Romance Authors:

Most romantic pick-up line you've ever heard

Elizabeth: The line from Jerry MacGuire…"You had me at hello." My husband offered, “I better get a library card because I’m checking you out.” Twenty years of marriage has made him rusty.
Rhonda: Where have you been all my life...
Dani-Lyn:  Well, it’s not very romantic but my favorite pick up line is from Disney’s Tangled: “Wow, somebody get me a glass… ‘cause I found me a tall drink of water.”

Best Place for a First Date

Elizabeth: A movie. It’s safe and you have something to talk about. (And if the date blows, you don’t have to talk at all and you have time to develop a head ache so you can go home early!)
Rhonda: Observatory on a clear, star filled evening
Dani-Lyn: Ice skating at Rockefeller Center

Food That Represents Love to You

Elizabeth: A Snickers bar (my husband would leave one for me when he left for college) or Whitman’s candies (my dad would always get me a box for Valentine’s Day)
Rhonda: Chocolate Pudding
Dani-Lyn: Chocolate!!

Most Romantic Book You've Ever Read

Elizabeth: Any of the Bronwyn Williams (AKA Dixie Browning) books.  Historicals set on the Outer Banks…what's not to love?
Rhonda: The Magnate’s Indecent Proposal by Ally Blake
Dani-Lyn: Gone With the Wind

Most Romantic Song in History

Elizabeth: Aerosmith’s “Angel”
Rhonda: Slave to Love by Bryan Ferry
Dani-Lyn: Endless Love

If you had to choose between a wonderful romantic relationship that would end after only a year, or a so-so relationship that would last your entire life, which one would you choose and why?

Elizabeth: One year. You know the saying, “It’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.” Besides, in the end, it’s eternal. Death is but a pause.
Rhonda: I would pick the so-so lifetime relationship.  You have all the time in the world to turn it into a wonderful, romantic relationship, which usually takes a lifetime to build.
Dani-Lyn: Forever is a long time to stay in a so-so relationship. I’d have to take the thrill of falling in love and staying in a wonderful romantic relationship for a year.

Elizabeth Seckman

Elizabeth divides her time between her beach cottage and her scrupulously clean house in the hills of West Virginia. Ooops. That's fantasy Elizabeth. The real Elizabeth spends her days schlepping after her four boys (five if you count their father) and the assortment of pets they swore they'd take care of. She does live in West Virginia; the house is clean when the mother-in-law visits; and she does have serious dreams of living at the beach. Elizabeth is a Marshall University graduate with a degree in counseling. This has proven very beneficial when dealing with the make-believe friends she hangs out with all day (she calls this 'writing'). Follow her blog at: http://www.eseckman.blogspot.com

Ditched at the altar…biopsied for cancer…Mollie Hinkle is having a bona fide bitch of a summer. When life sucks so hard it takes your breath away, what's a girl to do?

Road trip! Pack a bag, grab a few friends, and leave the past and the worry in the rear view mirror. What wounds can’t be healed by a drive across the Heartland, where quarter flips at cross roads determine the route and the future?

All roads lead to Craig, the second son and bad boy of the haughty Coulter line. Craig has spent his life taking care of number one—himself. He’s not interested in a relationship and he’s definitely not looking to fall in love. But if a morsel drops in his lap, who is he to refrain?

Mollie’s not looking for love either, but truth be told, she’s not opposed to it. Heck, if fate brought her to the miniscule Montana town to find happily ever after, she won’t fight it.Perhaps it is a summer where love, not time, heals all her wounds.

This quarterback is making the greatest play of his life…

Quiet bookstore owner Morgan Reed can’t wait to lie on the beach on her much-needed tropical vacation, but getting tackled by a tall, green-eyed stranger playing touch football isn’t exactly what she had in mind. Neither is falling for said stranger, or going along with the eccentric islander who sends them off with a mock wedding. But all’s fair when it comes to vacation romance, and Morgan has plenty of time to get back to reality when she gets home.

When he slams into the beautiful Morgan on the beach and sends her to the infirmary, superstar quarterback Seth Blake insists on helping her recover—if she agrees to share his bungalow with him. Seth is nothing less than smitten, and the best part is that the beauty has no idea who he is.

But when he finds out that their little “wedding” was the real thing, Seth finds himself in a sticky situation. Especially when Morgan finds out the man she fell for isn’t at all who he made himself out to be…

This was such a unique post with all three authors! Loved all of the answers, too! Great post guys. :D

02/10/2013 7:51pm

Thanks Theresa!
And thanks Brinda for having me over!

02/11/2013 8:00pm

Thank you, Theresa! And thank you for having me, Brinda!

02/10/2013 6:34pm

I'd go for the one year as well. Who wants to be in a so-so relationship his whole life?
Chocolate pudding? I'll keep that in mind.
And I never even had a pick up line. I'd be really rusty.

02/10/2013 7:49pm

Trust me...no line is the best way to go!

02/11/2013 8:05pm

I have to agree with Elizabeth, no line is better!

02/10/2013 6:48pm

I love this idea Brinda. What a great post and approach. Looks great too!

02/11/2013 8:02pm

Thank you, Anne. I agree, Brinda. This is a great post, I love the way you set it up!

Stephen Tremp
02/10/2013 8:17pm

I was never good at pick up lines. Fortunately my wife choose me. Made life so much easier as I'm not the type to chase a woman around.

02/11/2013 1:50pm

She chose wisely Stephen! And I tease my husband that I asked him to marry me first. He was a bit chicken. :p

02/11/2013 8:08pm

Sometimes us women just have to take the initiative!

02/10/2013 9:31pm

I love the format of this, with their answers side by side. A great interview style. *waves to the authors*

02/11/2013 1:51pm

Waves back!! And yes, that is an awesome format. I'd try it, but with my skills, I'd mess it up.

02/11/2013 8:07pm

Hi Medeia, thank you for visiting. I love this format as well, it was a fun interview to do!

02/11/2013 12:57am

Most romantic place for a first date for me is a really nice restaurant. Yeah, simple. Great interview and thanks for Giveaway.

02/11/2013 1:52pm

Restaurants are good too. And if the date is going badly, order an extra side of garlic bread ;)

02/11/2013 8:11pm

LOL! That'll put a quick end to a bad date alright!

02/11/2013 3:57am

I loved this post.... totally romantic in time for the 14th! Great stuff! :D

02/11/2013 1:53pm

Brinda is wise. Makes me jealous, but I'm dealing with it.

02/11/2013 8:12pm

Thank you, Suzy. Brinda is awesome!

02/11/2013 6:06am

Very cool idea for a romantic post.... now Brinda, ya gotta go find some guys and ask the same questions :)

PS... Laughing that Liz talked the most... that's my Twinny, for shure :)

02/11/2013 1:55pm

You weren't surprised at all were you Twinny?

Oooh, you shouldn't have told Brinda that...we could have done that next year and looked smart. I mean, that happens so rarely we need to relish every chance we can get!

02/11/2013 8:15pm

I'd love to see this interview with guys! It's always fun to get in their heads.

02/12/2013 7:46am

True Dani-Lyn, and since we'd only be in their head briefly, we wouldn't suffer any scarring!

02/11/2013 8:31am

so cute!!
loved all the answers! esp the first dates, ice skating is great for falling into his arms =)

and elizabeth, you were right, longest responses =)

02/11/2013 8:14pm

Falling into his arms, what a great idea! ;)

02/12/2013 7:47am

See Tara? I'm a chatter box!

02/11/2013 10:59am

Huzzah for "Gone With The Wind." I love that novel. I can't believe that Margaret Mitchell's work was allowed to be soiled by the sequel "Scarlett" when she never wanted there to be a sequel to this book.

02/12/2013 7:50am

GWTW- Best. Book. Ever. I totally boycotted "Scarlett". Margaret Mitchell didn't want a sequel, so to do it against her will is a slap in her face.

02/11/2013 11:26am

Interesting how chocolate was the common denominator here...hmmmm

02/12/2013 7:51am

That is curious...maybe estrogen is linked with chocolate addiction?

02/11/2013 1:43pm

Great layout, and fun 'interviews'. I'd go for the one year relationship... so, so an entire life is somehow depressing.

02/12/2013 7:52am

knuckle bumps

02/11/2013 2:27pm

It occurs to me as I read your blog that Valentine's week is a sweet time for romance writers. Hope it goes well for all of you, Brinda.

Marlena Fein
02/11/2013 2:32pm

This was such a cute thing to do. I loved hearing all the answers. The one that really got me thinking was the one year of love or a lifetime of so-so. I would have to say the one year of love would be for me.

Thanks for the great giveaway,
Marlena

02/11/2013 2:45pm

Wow! Three great new authors to look out for! I know that pick-up line from Tangled, we have watched that film at least 100 times! I think Flynn uses the good old 'Hi, how you doing?' line. Very romantic!

02/11/2013 3:34pm

Fun to set romance authors answers to romantic questions side by side. No two answers are the same, and no two page-turning romantic adventures!

02/11/2013 3:50pm

Interesting interview format. Great learning about 3 new-to-me authors all at once!

02/11/2013 5:27pm

Ooh I love reading about these authors -- especially their most romantic reads and the other questions! Thanks for sharing and introducing me to three new authors!!

02/11/2013 6:38pm

I love the switch of genre, Brinda. And I enjoyed each of these fascinating writers ... great answers to the questions ... the one where you select either a year of WOW or forever of SO SO. Interesting :)

02/11/2013 9:34pm

This is excellent! Love hearing from all three of them. Amazing authors and books!

02/11/2013 10:06pm

What insightful questions you asked. I loved the answers. And seeing them together was interesting. I can do a mean Karaoke to Aerosmith's Angel... I'm just sayin.

Brinda
02/12/2013 6:59pm

I should have a guy panel for these questions. I wonder how different the answers would be.

02/12/2013 4:46am

Chocolate, has to be chocolate. A snickers bar will do! And definitely a one year unforgettable romance that lives on forever in my mind. What a fabulous idea, Brinda. Well done, ladies!!!

02/12/2013 5:48am

This is such fun to read the answers to these romantic questions. Everyone is so creative!

It's wonderful to be introduced to great books too!

02/12/2013 10:37am

Hi, Brinda, Hi, Ladies,

What a fun interview and some great questions and answers.... perfect for this month.

May all have a ROMANTIC and WONDERFUL Valentine's Day!

02/12/2013 11:16am

Great interview! I love the line, "You had me at hello!"

Tami Clayton
02/12/2013 2:12pm

Fun interviews! I have to agree with someone above who said no pick up line is best. I'd rather be swept off my feet with a great conversation and the lasting connection built off of that. That and chocolate. Can't go wrong getting me some divine, European dark chocolate.

Brinda
02/12/2013 6:58pm

I think chocolate is a winner in this arena. Romance me with chocolate any day of the week.

02/13/2013 3:29am

What a fun post. I noticed you all liked chocolate :)

02/13/2013 7:32am

Oh yes. You all are so creative. This is a fresh take on getting to know romance writers and I hope I win this giveaway.Thank you all.

02/13/2013 8:00am

I am very late to the party but thanks Brinda for having me!

Melissa Williams
02/13/2013 1:56pm

Brinda
02/13/2013 2:21pm

Ah, thanks, Melissa. I hope your Valentine's is wonderful.

02/13/2013 2:20pm

How fun! Love all the answers. Chocolate FTW! Happy <3 Day!

02/13/2013 3:02pm

Nice job, ladies! I'd go w/the one year love, too, and Elizabeth, love Chad's library card pickup line, lol! :P This was a great idea, Brinda. Happy V-day! :)

I would pick the life long relationship, When you find your soul mate which to me would be the life long relationship type, why would you want less than a life time with them? I could not let go of the man of my dreams after only a year.
