Kindred Chronicles, Book 1
Serenity’s soul-reading ability lets her easily create custom tattoos. Everything else in her life is a struggle, from trying to make it work with her best friend, Evan, to nightmares and visions that make her question her sanity.
Then she meets a man who sharpens her craving for something more, but her commitment to Evan means nothing beyond sparks can exist between them.
Cyrus has been watching Serenity, preparing to claim her as his Blessed mate—the other half of a split soul that, once reunited, is his only chance to break the curse that plagues his people.
One moment, Serenity is confronted by armed militants firing questions she cannot answer. The next, she is safe in Cyrus’s arms, reveling in his burning kiss…and learning she isn’t even human. She is Kindred, blessed with preternatural powers, cursed to suffer the twin horrors of the blood rage and the dark veil.
Their union is the greatest hope for redemption in a thousand years, but not all Kindred want to be saved. A dark secret could snuff out their lives before love has a chance to unite them…and redeem the Kindred for all time.

Kindred of the Fallen is available at:
Isis Rushdan (IR) : Thank you so much for having me on, Brinda. You are an amazing person and wonderful friend.
IR: I invited my heroine and hero from my paranormal romance, Kindred of the Fallen, to join me in finishing the sentence. After a bit of negotiating, Serenity and Cyrus both agreed.
BB: *can't stop grinning at the movie star vibes they both give off* Nice to meet you both. Let's get started. Isis, if you don't mind going first...
IR: I’m thrilled to go first.
BB: Great! Finish this sentence-
One book I wish I had written…The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice.
One food I never eat…okra. Yuck! My husband loves it, but I can’t stand it.
One movie from last year that I loved…Magic Mike. Lol! Honestly, I haven’t seen it…yet. My hubby is still deployed so I don’t think he’d mind if I ordered it on Netflix. Seriously, I loved The Dark Knight Rises.
If I could spend a day with a writer, it would be…Nalini Singh.
A favorite scene in your book...(tough since I have a few, but will go with my favorite in the first 100 pages): While Serenity and Cyrus are in a deadly struggle with a Kindred suffering from blood rage, their latent powers emerge.
BB: Cyrus, Finish the sentence-
One book I wish I had written…Awakening by Nefertiti. It’s a collection of letters the immortal queen wrote to Kindred discussing everything from redemption, the greater good and why harmony with humanity is ultimately impossible.
One food I never eat…Spam. I heard it’s some kind of meat that comes in a can.
One movie from last year that I loved…well, to be honest I don’t have time to watch movies. I’m too busy euthanizing Kindred suffering from the dark veil and blood rage or keeping the battle-guard of House Sekhem from discovering Serenity. If I did have time, Zero Dark Thirty looks quite appealing.
If I could spend a day with a writer, it would be…Isis Rushdan. She hasn’t finished writing the third Kindred book and the chances of survival for me are pretty slim so I’d like to stay on her good side.
My favorite scene in Kindred of the Fallen involves...Serenity…wearing nothing but a smile…and a mink rug.
BB: Serenity, please finish the sentence-
One book I wish I had written…The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. I’ve read it a dozen times. Oh wait, can I change my answer to Kindred of the Fallen? Please tell Isis I said Kindred. She really puts us through the ringer and I like to keep her happy so I can have more steamy scenes with my mate versus so many near death scenarios.
One food I never eat…Durian fruit. It’s dreadful! I believe it’s grown by the devil and exported from hell.
One movie from last year that I loved…The Vow. It’s so romantic. She loses her memory, he doesn’t give up on her and somehow they find their way back to each other (sniffles). I’m a sucker for a great love story.
If I could spend a day with a writer, it would be…Isis Rushdan, of course. I’m terribly flawed and make some bad choices, but Isis manages to show my redeeming qualities and I have to thank her for a number of hot scenes with Cyrus. THANK YOU for making the wait oh so worth it!
My favorite scene in Kindred of the Fallen involves…Cyrus and I “working” through an argument (sly grin)…beneath the sheets…against the wall…on the floor…(frowns) until I shattered the bulletproof windows. Good grief, I made such a mess.
Thanks, Isis, Cyrus and Serenity.
