Theresa McClinton, author of The Stone Guardian
Available for purchase here

A long time enthusiast of things that go bump in the night, Theresa started her writing career as a journalism intern—possibly the least creative writing field out there. After her first semester at a local newspaper, she washed her hands of press releases and features articles to delve into the whimsical world of young adult paranormal romance.

Since then, Theresa has gotten married, had three terrific kids, moved to central Ohio, and was repeatedly guilt tripped into adopting a menagerie of animals that are now members of the family. But don’t be fooled by her domesticated appearance. Her greatest love is travel. Having stepped foot on the soil of over a dozen countries, traveled to sixteen U.S. states—including an extended seven-year stay in Kodiak, Alaska—she is anything but settled down. But wherever life brings her, she will continue to weave tales of adventure and love with the hope her stories will bring joy and inspiration to her readers.

Brinda Berry, author of The Waiting Booth and Whisper of Memory
Available for purchase here (for The Waiting Booth) and here (for Whisper of Memory)

Brinda Berry lives in the southern US with her family and two spunky cairn terriers. She's terribly fond of chocolate, coffee, and books that take her away from reality. She doesn't mind being called a geek or “crazy dog lady”. When she's not working the day job or writing a novel, she's guilty of surfing the internet for no good reason.

Picture
E.C. Newman, author of Phase
Available for purchase here

Born and raised wherever the military sent her father, E. C. Newman is a storyteller at heart. It didn't translate into writing, however, until she found herself in Ancient History her freshman year of college, desperate to stay awake. Bringing stories alive since then in FanFiction, poetry, and original work gave E. C. the confidence to add a Writing Major to her bachelor's degree, and after a stint in acting school in Los Angeles, she gained a MA in Writing for Young People from Bath Spa University in Bath, England.

E.C. currently lives with her mutt of a dog in Illinois, where she teaches middle school drama and high school literature, and can't help but find it hilarious that she's now teaching how to write an essay when she so deplored them as a student herself. In her spare time, E. C. is also a reader for a literary scout, which keeps her current with the children's literature market. She actively avoids growing up by writing stories about high school and the trials and triumphs that accompany it.

I love spending time with my family during the holidays. I second your wish! Hope you win some goodies.

12/16/2012 8:34am

Brinda, with so many titles toppling my TBR pile, I'd be content just with the book covers on these beauties. I find 'Blood, She Read' particularly compelling. Knock out cover, knock out title. Wow.

Brinda
12/16/2012 12:15pm

Blood, She Read is one of those that won/placed in several RWA contests. I can't wait to read it.

12/16/2012 9:54am

Brinda ... what I really want for Christmas is more time to read the great books you and so many of my writer friends recommend. I'll have to steal away more hours to keep up with it all :)

I'm with Florence - I'd love a little more time to read all of these books. I'm glad that at least part of my TBR pile is digital so it can't threaten to topple over on me. Yet.

The Diviners is not just calling my name. It's screaming, "READ ME" and I hope I do over the holidays.

12/20/2012 12:42am

My wish, I guess the big wish is for all the bad things happening to stop. Everything that we do to harm others, I wish we could all be nice to each other and not really pay attention to everyone's physical and mental differences. There are a lot of things going on in my family right now and all over the world that I wonder, what is the point in harming others? Some say Dec 21 is the beginning of a new era, could it be an era of peace?

What an awesome giveaway! Thank you Brinda for letting me know about it.

After the week that my family and I had, my only wish this Christmas is that we are all healthy for Christmas day. We have all come down with the flu and I hate the thought of my kids sick on Christmas Day.

Happy Holidays!

I wish for everyone to enjoy spending time together, as this will be the first Christmas my family gets to spend together, in two years!

Booksie
12/22/2012 11:52am

In a 2 year span, my hubby lost 3 family members, 2 of which spent EVERY Thanksgiving and Christmas with us. Holidays are hard for us, but especially hubby so I started our own traditions to bring more joy into our home. We now cut down our own tree at a local tree farm. We also open ONE gift on Christmas Eve...a family game...that we then sit down and play till late into Christmas morning!

I wish for the world to be a nicer place. I was raised to say please and thank you, hold a door open for someone, move your cart over to the side in the store so others can get through. Every year it seems people are more and more self righteous and make you feel like the outcast by being polite. I pray all the time for more kindness and consideration in the world...
