I've been absent at some of the blogs I normally visit. It's been a busy week and it won't be slowing down anytime soon. I'm taking an online class from Margie Lawson, getting some editing and revising finished on a current manuscript, and preparing for a trip next week to Colorado. I'll be attending Margie Lawson's Immersion Master Class (IMC). IMC is one I've heard so much about in the past couple of years. In Colorado, I'll be staying with six other authors and delving into a marathon of learning and editing at the top of a mountain. I'll leave on Thursday morning and will be there for five days. I'm getting really excited about it.

Don't forget about the February Giveaway at the bottom of the post. You must enter through the Rafflecopter. I change options throughout the month, so there are always new ways to enter. The options in the Rafflecopter changed on 2/21/13.  Now you can enter by getting connected with Alex Cavanaugh, Ciara Knight, and JAYdancefitness.

Additionally, I have contacted winners for the Random Acts of Kindness Giveaway Hop that ended on 2/21/13.  The winners are  Entry #104 PC for Prize Package #1 and Entry #59 Nurmawati D. for Prize Package #2.

A storm gathers across the galaxy…

Byron thought he’d put the days of battle behind him. Commanding the Cassan base on Tgren, his only struggles are occasional rogue pirate raids and endless government bureaucracies. As a galaxy-wide war encroaches upon the desert planet, Byron’s ideal life is threatened and he’s caught between the Tgrens and the Cassans.

After enemy ships attack the desert planet, Byron discovers another battle within his own family. The declaration of war between all ten races triggers nightmares in his son, shaking Bassan to the core and threatening to destroy the boy’s mind.

Meanwhile the ancient alien ship is transmitting a code that might signal the end of all life in the galaxy. And the mysterious probe that almost destroyed Tgren twenty years ago could be on its way back. As his world begins to crumble, Byron suspects a connection. The storm is about to break, and Byron is caught in the middle…

JAYdancefitness on YouTube

My sister instructs Zumba and Body Fitness classes at the local gym. It's the reason I'm still exercising at all. She and two other instructors have created a YouTube channel to post their Zumba videos. If you need something to inspire you, check out how much fun you could have with Zumba classes.
Have you read Alex Cavanaugh's books in this trilogy? Anything new and exciting coming up for you? Ever been to a Zumba class?

Last week at this time, I was unable to walk. It was temporary but painful. I took a family vacation and had a blast in Destin. Relaxing was the name of the game...except for one activity. I decided that I'd support my sister in her fitness regime and exercise with her. Please keep in mind that I am currently sedentary. Writing sort of leads to a butt-in-the-chair lifestyle.

I walked with her several days along the beautiful sidewalks and beaches of Destin, Fl. That was fabulous. One day, I did the Insanity DVD with her. Yes, it IS insanity. No misnomer there.  Another day, we did zumba. My sister teaches at the local gym and is an excellent and inspiring fitness teacher.  That was so much fun, and I miss going to her classes.

I'm not sure what put my body over the edge, but I'm guessing the Insanity DVD did it. Or it may have been the zumba. Either way, I can laugh about it now. The lesson is.....don't BEGIN a fitness program with the plan outlined above. If you have a Facebook account , you can click here to see a video of her doing a zumba routine. She choreographs, records and shares with her zumba friends and students. It's a blast just to watch. Happy Friday!
